Life

So this weekend I went home to celebrate my Mom's Birthday. We had a great time this weekend and made the most of it. Then when I got home, I started realizing that my life was moving quicker than I thought. I had just remembered my Mom's previous birthday and thought it had just happened like three months ago. Then I looked at my calendar and noticed I'm graduating in one month and I have no idea what my plans are. It hit me like a truck, All the experiences I've had these last 4 years from Zoom to now, it's coming to an end. 

Anyways, I need to start doing some planning for my future before I'm actually done with college. I currently feel as if I am very busy, yet I'm not gaining much from what I'm doing. I want to find a job and something that makes me want to be more proactive. On a better note, I have two exciting weekends to look forward to one being a retreat with one of my club's and the other is a visit to my friends at UC Davis. I'm really looking forward to my trip to Davis since it has been two years since I've visited my friends up there. Also, first time flying with JetBlue so I hope all goes well with that. So to sum it up I have tons of things to do and organize that need my immediate attention.

The book I have chosen to read is Brian Cox’s Putting the Rabbit in the Hat . I chose this book because the subject of the book, Brian Cox, was an actor I have recently discovered through Succession . When I think of actors, I have a preconception that they started at a higher point in life than normal such as being from an affluent family however this is not the case for Brian Cox. Reading this Cox’s autobiography has really helped me remember that even people that are very successful were not always as fortunate their whole lives. So, I think that reading this book has reminded me to relieve my preconceived thoughts about people who are very successful.  Starting at the prologue, I was shocked to see the name Steven Seagal. Book 1, Post 2

Reading Putting the Rabbit in the Hat by Brian Cox was a great time. The reading was structured in a way that I kind of forgot I was reading. The stories are great as Cox does not hold back on his thoughts of other actors or directors. It is very different to me reading about Cox holding himself accountable for many things he wishes he had done better. It was a breath of fresh air since most people fail to acknowledge their own shortcomings especially in an autobiography.  I do think that at first I wanted to relate to his story in some way, but this did not end up happening and I am okay with that because it made it all the more interesting reading about drastically different experiences than my own. One thing that was in my mind while reading was that Cox has always been passionate about acting and it is portrayed very clearly in this book.
