World We Dare to Imagine, Part 1
World We Dare to Imagine
I think that something I would want to follow through on in the future post is giving back to my community. I want to start with my community because it was what brought me to where I am now. I want to continue to foster an environment that encourages kids that grew up in my area to pursue higher education. I had so many resources given to me by the kindness of others and I hope to do something like that in the future. I have no clear plans but I know I want to have an impact. For me to take my first step towards this I have to focus on myself and get into a position where I can provide some value to my community. Furthermore, I want to find others like me from my community that would join me in my mission to help others. I have much more to figure out in my plans to make this come true, however I know I will make it happen at some point in my future.
Hey Alexis. It's super cool that you want to help give back to your community. Maybe you can find students of similar ages from your community who want to help. Then you can form a group to be able to speak to students about higher education and future opportunities.
ReplyDeleteHey Alexis, nice post. I like how you want to give back to your community, because I too, feel like I got a lot from my local community which makes me enjoy volunteering and giving back in any small way that I can. I think that establishing a website or database where resources like community engagement opportunities, people with similar ambitions, and additional community resources can be found would set a solid foundation for community reinvestment to flourish.
ReplyDeleteHey Alexis! I agree that giving back to the community is great way for everyone to improve the environment. We get so busy in college and often forget to give back to the community. I believe the next step could be coming up with a concrete plan based on the types of problems that could solved or improved in our community.
ReplyDeleteHi Alexis. Being apart of community and giving back is very admirable. I think the next step would be creating a plan. It could include volunteering, setting up resources, or creating a group that gives back to the local community.
